Here's an interesting article by Fred Barnes about possible Social Security reform. It's something called the Pozen Plan. I'd never heard of it, but it atleast sounds reasonable and could trim 2/3 of the Social Security shortfall. Of course, there is no way Pelosi will let this through.

More proof that Chicago politicians are morons can be found in this Chicago Sun Times article. I just absolutely do not understand the liberal mind. How do gun bans protect anyone? Its not the law abiding citizen's who commit gun crimes!!! All you are doing is making it harder for law abiding citizens to own guns. Meanwhile, the criminals will continue to stock pile their weapons caches. If someone can show me even one example where a gun ban reduced the amount of gun crime I'll change my tune. But since you won't be able to find an example I'm not too worried.

Oil Spill Debacle

There are pundits out there saying that the oil spill in the Gulf is Obama's Katrina. Honestly, I think that's a serious slight to George W. Bush. Atleast they were actively trying to help even though the results were suspect. Obama does not appear to be doing anything. Consider:

• He has turned down nearly every foreign country who has offered to help


• He has not suspended the Jones Act which would allow foreign ships to aid in the clean-up.


• He has put a drilling moritorium in the Gulf which actually increases the likelihood of another Deepwater Horizon like incident.
